JOSH WEISSPresident of Hexagon Mining, CDO of Hexagon Geosystems
Josh is integral to Hexagon Mining's vision to be the number one smart technology partner for integrated life-of-mine solutions. Previously Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Shared Services, Finance, and Vice President of Operations, Josh is well versed in all aspects of Hexagon Mining's business, leading the company's strategy and operations. He has chaired the product steering, digitization, and the pricing committees for the past three years. Josh also currently serves on the Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees.
NICK HAREChief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer
As COO and CFO, Nick leads the planning and execution of corporate development and transformation, driving commercial activities across regions, portfolios and shared service functions aligned to Hexagon’s mission of shaping the industry’s digital future. He brings more than 12 years’ experience in progressive managerial finance, management consulting roles and is integral to Hexagon’s execution of numerous executive strategic priorities, driving performance through corporate development, and operational effectiveness.
ROB DAWChief Technology Officer
Rob oversees all technology and innovation teams and brings more than 15 years’ experience in the mining industry. He provides clients with efficient, reliable, and effective solutions that meet the current and future challenges of mining operators across the globe. He is passionate about working with clients to achieve operational excellence – all underpinned by his strong analytical, practical, and methodical approach to solving problems, combined with strong communication skills and industry experience.
GIANCARLO COMINIGlobal Vice President - Mine Planning Software Business Unit & Sales Operations
Giancarlo joined Hexagon Mining in July 2016 and leads all Mine Planning software business unit and sales operations worldwide. Born and raised in Brazil, fluent in English and Italian, Giancarlo earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Industrial Management. Giancarlo began his career in leading Italian companies in industrial automation in sales management roles, overseeing South America.
HUMBERTO ASTORGAVice President, Financial Controlling & Manufacturing
Humberto is instrumental in mergers and acquisitions, and in leading and directing manufacturing and supply-chain organizations. He joined Hexagon Mining in 2012, bringing more than 22 years' experience from various business environments, including high-tech manufacturing startups and publicly traded corporations. He holds a BA in Business Administration with emphasis in accounting from the University of Arizona. He also holds an MBA.
ADAM SAVAGEVice President, Global Customer Operations
Adam is focused on putting our customers at the heart of what we do in his global role, stewarding our services and support team. He is helping to drive new technologies and processes into our support organizations, making them more efficient and easier for customers to use. He is committed to transforming services into a value creator for our customers; taking the deep skill and experiences and putting them to work in the field, increasing productivity and improving safety.
TRACY SOLE DE HOOPDirector, Marketing
Tracy Sole de Hoop brings more than 10 years‘ experience in the mining industry to her role as Director of Marketing. Tracy worked as a physical scientist for the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver and cofounded a mathematics research consulting firm for the oil and gas industry. She is an executive board member of the El Rio Health Center Foundation. Tracy earned bachelor’s degrees in geo and anthropology from SMU and a master’s degree in anthropology specializing in geographic information systems and remote sensing from CSU.
Raul GomezSenior Director, IT & Workplace Infrastructure
Raul joined Hexagon Mining in 2010, bringing more than 25 years in technical and management experience in Information Technology. He is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all internal IT functions across the organization globally. Raul is also responsible for all building office projects, coordinating with local management and all vendors involved during the design and building phase. He holds a BS in Information Technology and brings leadership experience from roles in Corporate IT and Product Development.
Thomas W. BoBo Jr.Director, Business Development, Split Engineering
Tom leads the integration of Split Engineering’s fragmentation analysis technology into Hexagon’s Mining portfolio. He joined Hexagon in May 2019 after 22 years spent assisting with system sales and installations in more than 100 mines worldwide. As a founding partner in Split Engineering, he worked in real-time digital image analysis and developed automated systems for measuring rock fragmentation from mine to mill and pit to plant. Tom has an MS in Geological and Geophysical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Brian NortonDirector, Business Operations, Split Engineering
Brian joined Hexagon in May 2019 after the acquisition of Split Engineering, the fragmentation analysis leader he co-founded in 1997. As general manager of Split Engineering, Brian was responsible for business management and authored the company’s original business plan while pursuing his MBA (Entrepreneurship/MIS) at the University of Arizona. The plan centered on imaging technology invented in the U of A’s Department of Mining and Geological Engineering. Brian has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Finance) and worked in the financial services and investment industry.
RODRIGO COUTOVice President, LATAM
Rodrigo brings more than 25 years' experience in the mining, metal, and agriculture sector. Prior to his appointment as NAFTA Sales Director, Rodrigo was Sales & Marketing Director for Devex for six years and CEO of Dairy Factory for eight years. He majored in electrical engineering from PUC-MG Brazil University, and has an MBA from FGV University Belo Horizonte, Brazil with concentrations in sales, and international business.
VERONICA SANTIAGOController, NAFTA
Veronica joined Hexagon Mining in 2014 as an Assistant Controller, implementing the first version of the Certify expense report software for the company. She was promoted to Controller and then Regional Controller in 2015. Previously, she was a Senior Accountant with a mining division of FLSmidth, supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable billing groups in Tucson and in the Philippines. Veronica has a BS with a double major in Accounting and Finance from University of Arizona.
RYAN HAWESRegional Director, NAMER
Ryan drives the customer-centric model within the region to ensure Hexagon is the client’s trusted partner, shaping digital transformation and smart change. He brings more than 8 years’ experience of management, operations and business development within mining technology supplier companies. Working with mining companies globally, he brings an additional 10 years’ experience of mining operations and technology. He’s passionate about working with clients to define their needs, improve their operations and ensure success.
RODRIGO MARINHODirector, Services & Support, South America
A mining technologist with almost 20 years’ experience, Rodrigo is committed to enhancing clients’ experiences with our integrated life-of-mine solutions. He has implemented and supported mission-critical solutions for the world’s main mining companies, both open pit and underground. He has a BS in Computer Science from the Federal University of Lavras, (UFLA) an MS in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, (UFMG) and an executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).
CARMEN LAGOSController, South America
Carmen is a key contributor to Hexagon Mining’s growth in South America. She joined the company in 2011 and is focused on partnering with the regional sales and operations team. Her career began in the audit department of Price Waterhouse Coopers before consulting for PWC in management roles. She also worked for Rockwell Automation, a multinational corporation focused on automatization processes. Carmen is a certified Public Accountant, Audit Accountant, and has a degree in International Financial Reporting Standards.
Claudia RodriguezController, Peru and Mexico
Claudia brings more than 15 years’ experience in accounting and finance to her role supporting planning and operations teams in Peru and Mexico. She held senior positions in several technology companies, including that of Global Assistant Controller with Jigsaw Technologies and Global Controller for Guardvant – now both part of Hexagon. Claudia holds a BS in Public Accounting from ITESM in Mexico.
ANDREW CROSERegional Director, EMEA
Andrew is a miner at heart and has participated in digital strategy, IoT, big data, and other technology initiatives with some of the world’s top mining houses. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt trained in process improvement on projects in the mining industry. Andrew brings more than 15 years’ experience in sales management and operations, with the last 10 years in the mining industry. He is responsible for the development, maintenance, and management of sales processes for the Operations’ product portfolio.
CHRISTINA GELDENHUYSController, EMEA
Christina joined Leica Geosystems in 2012 and transitioned to Hexagon Mining in 2014. She was previously a financial controller in the hospitality industry for The Forum Company, with responsibilities as compliance officer, health and safety officer. She was a senior auditor with clients in retail, manufacturing, insurance and stock brokerage industries, focusing on statutory audits and due diligence investigations. She has a B Com in Accountancy from North West University and a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.
NEAL HARRIESManaging Director, Mining Segments, APAC
As Director of Sales, Neal manages revenue and profitability of the business in the Asia Pacific region. Neal has been with Hexagon since January 2011 and has undertaken senior management roles, including managing the Product Management teams, New Business (Technology Partner and Autonomous Mining Strategy) and General Management of the NAFTA Mining Business. As well as being current Sales Director for the APAC region, Neal is also General Manager of the Hexagon Georadar division in Australasia.
Paul EwinRegional Director, APAC
Paul is responsible for providing Hexagon’s life-of-mine solutions to operations across Central Asia, Mongolia, southeast Asia and Australasia. A passionate problem solver, he joined the group in 2011, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in the mining industry. Paul has a background in Sales & Operations Management and has studied both business and engineering.
IRFAN GIRACHController, APAC
Irfan looks after controlling for operations within APAC, covering Australia and Indonesia, and supports the IDS business unit in Australasia, covering mining and georadar. He also supports the Australian-based Global Selling Units within Hexagon Geosystems. Irfan joined Hexagon Mining in 2011 as an accountant, progressing to Controller, APAC. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand.
NEVILLE JUDDDirector, Communications
Neville was a print journalist for 25 years before joining Hexagon Mining in 2010 with a definitive brief: Make mining technology sound sexy. Hexagon Mining is the only company to solve surface and underground challenges by integrating design, planning, and operations technologies for safer, more productive mines. Who wouldn’t find that sexy?
NONA MCCANNDirector, Global Human Resources, APAC, EMEA
Nona is the Global Human Resources Director responsible for Hexagon Mining’s APAC and EMEA regions. She is responsible for developing strategies, tools and processes to support senior management within the business. Nona holds Masters degree in Business and Human Resources Management from Deakin University, Australia. Fluent in English and Indonesian. Nona is also Human Resources Director for IDS Georadar’s (another division of Hexagon Geosystems) APAC and EMEA regions.
ESMERALDA SAYLORDirector, Global Human Resources, Americas
Esmeralda Saylor is Director of Human Resources, overseeing North and South America Regions. She joined Hexagon Mining on October 14, 2014. Esmeralda holds a Masters of Arts in Human Resources Management and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Esmeralda has accumulated over 12+ years in Human Resources and 11 years in the Mining industry.

MARCELO ROMEROSenior Product Portfolio Manager, Operations, Safety, & Machine Health
Marcelo oversees Safety, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Machine Guidance, and Machine Health product lines for open pit and underground. He has been closely involved with integrating these technologies since joining the Tucson, AZ office of Hexagon Mining in 2014. With around 20 years’ fleet management experience, Marcelo was previously an account manager for MX and the US, a machine guidance specialist, a global technical expert engineer for health maintenance solutions in the U.S., and deployment and support engineer in Chile.
ZHANYOU HUANGGeneral Manager, Product Development, Planning
Zhanyou oversees development of planning products in exploration, geology, design, planning and scheduling, grade control, and integration with other business units. Previously Senior Engineering Product Development Manager, Zhanyou led the management and development of engineering products and delivered high quality solutions to customers. He is the author of MineSight Schedule Optimizer and the concept of mine planning and haulage system integration.
TIM VARECKAGeneral Manager, Product Development, Operations
Tim is responsible for developing new solutions for fleet management, safety, and autonomous vehicles. He oversees development centers located in Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, and Tucson, Arizona. Before joining in November 2017, Tim was the hardware manager for Medtronic Care Management Services, where he led engineering teams that developed medical devices for home-patient monitoring. Tim has a BS in electrical engineering and an MS in the management of technology, both from the University of Minnesota.
MARCOS BAYUELOPortfolio Manager, Safety
As Portfolio Manager, Safety, Marcos and his team are committed to developing solutions that are based on time spent with customers to understand their needs. Since joining Hexagon Mining in 2013, Marcos held roles in Services and Support, and in the Product Introduction team. He has developed a blend of business and technical savvy from this experience, allowing him to realize our safety vision with innovative solutions. He has a BS in Electronic Engineering from Autonoma University in Colombia and an MBA from Universidad Vina del Mar in Chile.
CARL BRACKPOOLProduct Manager, Commercial
Carl is driving new and existing products for underground solutions, as well as next-generation Machine Health systems, combining sensor telemetry with deep-data analytics. He is the liaison between the Hexagon Applications and Technology Centers in Heerbrugg, Switzerland and Hexagon Mining in Tucson, developing customer-requested use cases that leverage transformative and emerging technology research within the Hexagon ecosystem.
DEMETRE HARRISProduct Manager, Operations
Demetre plays an essential role in bringing concepts to reality. With more than 10 years’ experience leading technical teams in support, services, and development, he understands the importance of identifying customer needs and, through development, testing, and delivery, providing innovative solutions to address those needs. He has a BS in Computer Engineering Technology from the University of Memphis, and expertise in fleet management and high-precision machine guidance solutions.
SETH GERINGProduct Manager, Operational Planning
Seth brings a wealth of experience to managing operational planning products. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999 with a BS in Geosciences before working on hydrology and GIS projects for the United States Geological Survey and General Dynamics. He returned to school to pursue a Master’s in Education. After teaching middle school science in Tucson, he worked for a geophysics company before joining Hexagon Mining.
Dustin MeisburgerProduct Manager, Engineering, Planning
Dustin is responsible for leading the development strategy for engineering products within the MinePlan portfolio. An experienced Mining Engineer, Dustin has held a variety of mine planning and engineering management roles. He holds a BS in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Canada. Drawing on his experiences in the industry, Dustin understands how mine planning tools can generate real value for customers. This value-centric, customer-centric attitude drives his contributions to developing Hexagon’s mine planning products.
FABIEN KRITTERProduct Manager, Autonomous
Fabien is integral to Hexagon Mining’s safety offering and is an expert in collision avoidance technology and operator-assist driving systems. He joined the company’s safety division in 2012 and continues to work in Baar, Switzerland, overseeing development of our Safety and Automation solutions. His work on our Vehicle Intervention System, a Level-9 solution, earned Fabien a share in the 2017 Mining Magazine Safety Innovation Award. Fabien has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
BARBARA HIRTZSenior Product Manager, Safety
Barbara is an integral part of Hexagon Mining’s Safety offering. She joined the company’s safety division (formerly SAFEmine) in early 2015 and works in the Baar office in Switzerland, overseeing the Safety portfolio. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and holds Certificates of Advanced Studies in Product Management as well as Business Administration.
Josh SavitProduct Manager, Fatigue
Josh Savit joined Hexagon in April 2019. For the past 10 years, he has worked in the EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) arena, developing new methodologies and technologies for monitoring fatigue and alertness, primarily in the mining industry. His efforts in behavioral-based methodologies and fatigue education help labor-management communications, adoption of fatigue management systems and best practices. Prior to his work in fatigue, Josh partnered in developing the first fully customizable MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulatory compliance management tool.
MARCUS MUNDIMManager, Product Development, Autonomous
Marcus brings almost 20 years’ automotive industry experience to the development of Hexagon Mining’s autonomous haulage systems. He is skilled in project management, product development, team management, automotive engineering, and continuous improvement. He is responsible for quality assurance and product introduction, and for the Brazilian product development teams developing open pit and underground software solutions, as well as self- and assistive-driving solutions.
FABIAN HAUSERManager Product Development, Safety
Fabian has been part of the Hexagon Mining family since 2011. He played a critical role in the development of products such as SCS, Scope screen, FatigueMonitor, SMTool, SMData and Toolbox. He has a strong background in software engineering management and holds a Master’s in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Adrian Kirk-BurnnandProduct Manager, Enterprise
As Product Manager for Hexagon’s Mine Enterprise solution, Adrian focuses on how life-of-mine data-sets are delivered to solve customers' needs. He holds a BC in Information Systems, and since 2011, has been applying his customer-centric focus to development and delivery of fleet management systems, mining software system integrations, end-user-training and business intelligence solutions.
Larry EstepPortfolio Manager, Operations
Larry brings more than two decades of experience and passion to the product management team as MineOperate Portfolio Manager. He began his career as a new college graduate in 1998 with Caterpillar, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He held roles supporting and leading machine distribution, operation training and mining technology. Larry earned an undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University in Information Management and returned mid-career to school where he earned his MBA from Bradley University with a concentration in Marketing.
GEORGIOS MAVROSProduct Manager, Operations
Graduated in 2004 from the University of Arizona, with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering. Georgios has 12 years experience in the Mining Software industry with a background in Services and Support. Georgios started his mining software career as a Project Engineer, moved through the stages of Services and Support, was promoted to a Team Lead Senior Engineer, and now assumes his current position as a Product Manager Operations.
NATHAN GEORGEProduct Manager, Operations
As Product Manager, Operations, Nathan is excited to partner with customers to solve their problems, optimize business processes and reduce operational variability. Nathan is a mining technology specialist with more than 15 years’ experience in the industry. He has held roles with mining companies and service providers, delivering large-scale business improvement and technology transformation initiatives. Nathan is passionate about using technology to drive efficiency and value, and has delivered solutions across the mining production, safety, remote operations and automation fields.
Joe AricoPrincipal Product Manager, Machine Solutions
Joe is passionate about solving customer problems and brings more than 15 years’ product management experience to his role as Principal Product Manager. Overseeing Hexagon’s MineDiscover portfolio, Joe is busy delivering the next generation of machine solutions, working collaboratively across all mining verticals and Hexagon divisions. He has a BS in Microelectronic Engineering (Hons) and spent 14 years in the precision agriculture industry specializing in machine control solutions before switching to mining in 2012.
Don KraemerProduct Manager, Split Automated Systems
Don leads Hexagon’s Split Automated product line, providing automated rock particle analysis for mining operations. For more than a decade he has contributed to sales, product development, product management and customer support with a focus on customer-centric, value-added solutions. He has partnered with an international customer base to further understand and meet industry challenges. Don has previous experience in humanitarian aid, geotechnical engineering and hydrogeology. He has an MBA and a BS in Geological Engineering from the University of Arizona.
MARK CAMPIONSenior R&D Manager, PMO
Mark has responsibility for coordinating and managing the Product Development Program performance, maintaining alignment to strategic objectives and corporate compliance in the Mining Division. He leads a team of Project Managers acting as business partners between Product Development, Product Management and our cross-functional stakeholders to deliver our product roadmap to the market. Prior to joining in April 2018, Mark was a Development Project Manager for three years and Technology Manager at GE Healthcare for 11 years.
